I'm proud to call Richfield, MN home, and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming more deeply connected to local politics over the last couple of years.
It's easy to do, and I encourage anyone who cares about the future of Richfield to get involved!

2017 City Council Special Election

It was a great honor to be a part of the 2017 special election for the open city council seat vacated by Mayor Pat Elliott in Ward One. We ran a campaign that focused on communication, transparency, and accountability - values I thought would resonate with the people of Richfield. While I was obviously disappointed in the results, I'm so proud of the effort that my family and friends put in to try and get me on the council. To my supporters, please know I will stay active in local politics, and will continue to make these my core issues, no matter how I serve the community.

Fiscal Planning Advisory Committee (FPAC)

The Fiscal Planning Advisory Committee consists of parents and community representatives, with school staff and two liaisons from the Board of Education acting as non-voting, ex-officio members, with the goal of (14) members.  The district is annually seeking new membership anticipating a few members will not return in subsequent years.  Active members are asked to provide recommendations of prospective members, so if you're interested, let me know!

District Technology Advisory Committee (DTAC)

The District Technology Advisory Committee is a group of students, parents, teachers & community members who bring knowledge and have an interest in curriculum instruction and educational technology. This year's focus is about our Richfield 1:1 technology initiatives.

We need good people who care about our kids' relationship with technology as they progress through the district, so again- if you're interested, let me know!

2015 School Board Election

In September of 2015 I made the decision to run for the Board of Education in Richfield. It was an absolutely amazing experience.

The commitment and sacrifices that your representatives make at even this local level would surprise you. It opened my eyes to the complexity of government, and I have a new respect for those who've been elected to office of any level. I learned so much during the campaign, but most of all I learned how much I still needed to learn to serve my community effectively. I lost the election, but have gotten involved in the system through my work with FPAC, DTAC, and other local organizing committees.
